INFERTILITY

Several pregnancy monitoring and risk assessment systems are available. The most widely used system is the Pregnancy Assessment Monitoring System.

High-risk pregnancies require close monitoring and sometimes referral to a perinatal center, especially if women have complex high-risk conditions. These centers offer many specialty and subspecialty services, provided by maternal, fetal, and neonatal specialists

Our experience suggests that high-risk obstetric intervention does not obviate the potential benefit of metroplasty, especially for patients with a bicornuate or septate uterus. We believe that traditional indications for metroplasty should continue to be used.

The response of patients to assessing prenatal care may reflect their priority of medical care relative to other priorities associated with day-to-day existence.
